TOTAL BUA=13,000SFT

Concept: The concept is to make an architectural work to be self explanatory, a robust   response to the immediate context and to uplift the institute’s image .it is meant to be an icon of the city by means of its bold presence.

The work of architecture is explainable through its very language of plans, sections, elevations, perspective etc.

the building externally expresses it-self in light & during night time simultaneously.

the major spaces are flanked by water-body, reflecting pools on either side. The reflecting pool north to the office space creates a dramatic environment during night time.

This is a compact spatial arrangement where the total IAB office is beneath the elevated multipurpose hall.

The entrance to the premise is a composition of circulation & void spaces through which one enters the building. This entry space was deliberately positioned close to the corner of two connecting roads.

The main entrance & lobby spaces are dedicated to the street & the city fabric.

A projecting mass that is the lounge space of IAB office adds up to visual dominance of the form as well as diffusing skylight through skylight portals.

The form of the building reminds the celebration of machine –aesthetics & functional rational.

It is an architectural solution where the challenge is to economize cost, construction as well as circulation spaces. Here the orientation of the building (towards east-west) makes it least exposed to solar heat gain & providing ample wind to the building which will naturally ventilate the building. The building has a minimum covered area thus maximizing allowable built area for future expansion.

In case of future extension the east end of the building would be connected to form a high-rise structure. In future if needed it would be integrated with this structure by means of the water-body, vehicular road & – paved area forming a single entity all together.

Approximately 1, 98,000 sft of built area remains for future expansion.@ 12076 sft /fl  a tower of 16.3 floors  would be available.

Structure& Finishing:  the structure of the building is RCC frame & load bearing R.C.C wall. The multi-purpose roof is prefabricated steel ‘I’ sections connected to peripheral R.C.C trussed beams. The floor of multipurpose is R.C.C beam & slab construction.

All filler materials are of exposed brick, where plastered walls are used it is rendered as fair face concrete finish.
